The X Factor Press Launch With Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh

simon-rollWe attended the Press Launch of The X Factor at a hotel in Soho yesterday. The media were invited to the hotel roof terrace where we met the judges and hosts.

Simon, who was accompanied by his partner Lauren stopped for a chat with us, looking very tanned from his holiday he told us he was enjoying his break on the yacht and will be flying back to the South of France that evening. He also told us how much he had missed being on the UK show and feels this year will be the best yet.

Louis couldn’t believe Simon had a fan site, let alone 250k followers on Twitter. We asked him to join twitter too, unfortunately he declined saying it wasn’t for him. He asked us if we thought Simon was looking very young, we had to agree although pointed out that Louis was looking younger each year.

simon-bDermot was lovely, so friendly. We asked him if he felt under more pressure now Simon has returned. He said he didn’t as Simon has only been a phone call away over the past three years, and he knew he would be watching the show. Dermot said still held the same sense of profession pride on all the shows he has done.

After chatting to the judges we made our way to the screening room where we watched this Saturday nights show.  The judges intro is brilliant, we also loved the camera work in the small audition rooms. The contestants were a mixed bag, most of the odd balls they have chosen to show are hilarious. Look out for some stunning performances, including an ‘over’ and a mixed group.

Don’t miss this first show on Saturday ITV 8pm

Simon Cowell Treats Lauren Silverman To A Meal And Bling For Her Birthday.

Simon Cowell knows how to treat a lady. Simon gave his girlfriend Lauren Silverman’s jewellery to celebrate her 37th birthday.

During the evening, Cowell also treated Silverman to a small dinner party at Red Stixs, an upscale Chinese restaurant in the Hamptons. While there, guests sang Happy Birthday to Silverman who was presented with a gorgeous cake.

“It was a happy, relaxing day,” a source tells E! News. “Everything with them is great.”

“They’ve been there a lot this summer,” another source told E! News of the couple’s dinner destination. “They seem to really love it.”

While the couple has enjoyed spending quality time in the Hamptons, a new vacation destination could soon be in their future.

“It will be on a boat,” a source hinted to E! News. “Everyone’s really looking forward to it.”

Simon Cowell Buys An Apartment in New York

Simon Cowell has splashed out over $10 million on a New York apartment.

Simon and girlfriend Lauren Silverman – who have four-month-old son Eric together – have closed a deal on a luxury three-bedroom apartment on East 78th Street, close to the Upper East Side neighbourhood where the socialite’s other son Adam, seven, lives with his father Andrew Silverman.

It is unclear which apartment in the building the couple bought, but a three-bedroom property was recently listed at $10.8 million.

A source told the New York Post newspaper “They wanted to be on the Upper East Side, and they love modern and new.”

The couple have been house hunting for several months and the property they have bought is said to be very similar to the $25,000-a-month home Simon rented for Lauren, when she was pregnant.

Simon Cowell Might Change the BGT Judges Next Year And What Does Eric Think Of The Show.

Simon Cowell talks about his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges and how Eric watches the show.

Simon believes David Walliams is a law unto himself.

“He overstepped the mark sometimes but the more I say to him to not do it, he does it even more, so it’s better to say little. He gets really over-excited on the live shows and says and does things he wasn’t planning, then sometimes regrets it. But he kind of makes it interesting.”

Simon has hinted that he may have reached the end of the road with the comic. Admitting to Nicola Methven from the Daily Mirror Simon that there could well be changes to the judging line-up next year, he says he will make the decision depending on each of panelists “commitment” to the ITV show.

“I don’t even know yet,” he sighed. “With David I knew what I was letting myself in for before we signed him. It’s much more down to having a conversation with all of them afterwards and seeing how much they want to be in the show.

“Are they still absolutely into the idea of finding a star? You never want a judge for hire. You want someone who’s really going to be committed.”

Along the bench, Amanda Holden has made it clear she loves the role, thanking Simon for rescuing her from simply being known for a failed marriage to Les Dennis and an affair with Neil Morrissey.

But there is also a question-mark over Alesha Dixon. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge is being linked to the vacant role on Simon’s other show The X Factor.

“She couldn’t do both,” was all he would say this week.

Talking about the final Simon says he’s pleased with how this series of BGT has gone, finding it less predictable than last year, when Hungarian shadow act Attraction triumphed.

“I’m excited about the final – it’s going to be very open. There are four or five who could win it on the night, unlike last year when it was quite obvious that Attraction were going to win. It was a bit of a one horse race.”

Simon Cowell and Lauren Dine Out With Cheryl Cole, Amanda and David.

With her new X Factor contract signed and auditions set to begin in June, Cheryl was joined at the Firehouse by show mogul Simon Cowell, who arrived hand in hand with partner Lauren Silverman.

She heralded her return to the music scene with the release of a racy new promo shot for her forthcoming single, but Cheryl Cole was mining less familiar territory on Friday evening when she paid a visit to the Chiltern Firehouse.

The pop sensation’s arrival drew a raucous cheer from a gaggle of girls gathered outside the popular Marylebone venue, and their greeting mustered a wry smile from Cheryl, who appeared to be unaccompanied for her evening out

Taking a welcome break as the week drew to a close, Cheryl opted for a smart black ensemble comprised of crossover coat and matching leather trousers as she exited her car and sashayed inside.

Simon’s Britain’s Got Talent colleagues Amanda Holden and David Walliams were also in attendance, with the latter arriving in the company of model wife Lara Stone – who looked stunning in a cropped leopard print jacket.

Simon Cowell Receives A Very Special Gift From David Walliams

David Walliams gave Simon Cowell the gift of a lifetime this week. He penned a very special children’s book especially for his new baby son.

Eric Cowell was born on Valentines Day and is Simon’s first child and during an appearance on Britain’s Got More Talent on Monday night, Walliams – an acclaimed children’s author – presented his boss with 50 copies of the thoughtful gift, which had been properly printed and bound at his own publishers and even illustrated by gifted and well known illustrator Tony Ross. Ross is best known for his work on the Horrid Henry series and of course provides all the drawings for Walliams’ own creations.

The hardback book is called ‘David Walliams Presents Baby Eric’, but many fans of the show were surprised when Cowell seemed not exactly grateful for the thoughtful present at first.

Insiders told The Sun that the music mogul was worried about David releasing the book to the general public, however he was moved when he realised it was an entirely private gift.

A source told The Sun: “He didn’t quite know what to say.”

The blurb inside David’s novel says: “Simon Cowell was the man who thought he had everything, until the day Baby Eric arrived in his life.”

“This is the story of how Eric David Sinitta Louis-Walsh Cowell came into the world.”

A source said: “BGT is a real family affair now with Lauren and Eric down at the studios.”

Simon Cowell Wants ANOTHER Baby – And This Time He’s Hoping For A Girl

Lauren Silverman speaks to The Daily Mirror in her first interview, about how Simon is coping with fatherhood, and how happy they are since the birth of their son Eric.

Simon has only just become a father, but Simon Cowell is already hoping for another baby – and this time he wants a daughter, his girlfriend has revealed.

Lauren Silverman, said Simon was an “amazing” dad to three-month-old son Eric and added: “ We’ll definitely have more children.”

She said: “I would like one more, I think it will be a girl, Simon wants a girl very badly.”

Lauren was speaking for the first time about Eric’s birth and said it was a “blessing” as she feared she could not have any more children.

She said she had tried for some time with now-ex-husband Andrew Silverman, after the birth of their son Adam eight years ago.

But she only got pregnant again after starting an affair with Simon.

At the launch of the London Cabaret Club at hotspot The Collection, she said: “I was never able to have a child for a long time, it’s the biggest blessing.

“With Simon I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. He’s an amazing dad, he does all the nappies, very hands-on. I love him.”

Lauren now splits her time between London and New York, where son Adam lives with Andrew.

Adam met little Eric recently and Lauren said: “My older son is so in love with the baby, it’s been fantastic.”

At the West London event, X Factor boss Simon also revealed fatherhood was not exhausting him as they had hired a nanny.

He said: “I’m not having sleepless nights. A) I never sleep! And B) we have a nurse that looks after Eric at night times.”
