The X Factor Press Launch With Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh

simon-rollWe attended the Press Launch of The X Factor at a hotel in Soho yesterday. The media were invited to the hotel roof terrace where we met the judges and hosts.

Simon, who was accompanied by his partner Lauren stopped for a chat with us, looking very tanned from his holiday he told us he was enjoying his break on the yacht and will be flying back to the South of France that evening. He also told us how much he had missed being on the UK show and feels this year will be the best yet.

Louis couldn’t believe Simon had a fan site, let alone 250k followers on Twitter. We asked him to join twitter too, unfortunately he declined saying it wasn’t for him. He asked us if we thought Simon was looking very young, we had to agree although pointed out that Louis was looking younger each year.

simon-bDermot was lovely, so friendly. We asked him if he felt under more pressure now Simon has returned. He said he didn’t as Simon has only been a phone call away over the past three years, and he knew he would be watching the show. Dermot said still held the same sense of profession pride on all the shows he has done.

After chatting to the judges we made our way to the screening room where we watched this Saturday nights show.  The judges intro is brilliant, we also loved the camera work in the small audition rooms. The contestants were a mixed bag, most of the odd balls they have chosen to show are hilarious. Look out for some stunning performances, including an ‘over’ and a mixed group.

Don’t miss this first show on Saturday ITV 8pm

Simon Cowell and the X Factor Judges film a ‘Game of Thrones’ Themed Advert

xf-promo2-simon-ed-cThe X Factor judges have reportedly filmed a Game of Thrones themed advert.

Simon Cowell, Cheryl, Mel B and Louis Walsh

were joined by hundreds of extras at Pinewood Studios shooting the reported £1 million trailer, the most expensive in the show’s history.

The short film – which took a week to film – sees the quartet lead singing warrior armies into war as they prepare to do battle to take the X Factor throne, echoing the fantasy drama which sees warring families competing to take control of the seven kingdoms

The advert, which was reportedly helmed by One Direction music video director Ben Winston, also made extensive use of green screen and CGI technology.

Mel B shouts: “Things are about to get loud.”

Cheryl winks and orders her ‘army’ to charge, while Simon warns: “It’s time to get down to business.”

The new advert will air for the first time on ITV tonight.

Simon Cowell Adds Mel B As The Final Judge To The X Factor Judging Panel

Mel B Spices Up The X Factor!

Spice Girl Melanie B joins Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh. Dermot O’Leary is back as host

The nation’s most talked about entertainment show today (11th June 2014) confirms its brand new judging panel with Spice Girl Melanie B becoming the fourth and final judge.

As part of the biggest selling female group of all time and the cultural phenomenon, which was The Spice Girls, Mel B has notched up a stunning 80 million record sales worldwide, including nine UK No.1s. She also has five prestigious BRIT Awards to her name.

Mel’s signing comes after she appeared as a guest judge on The X Factor in 2012, where she lived up to her scary nickname with her straight talking approach.

Talking about joining the panel Mel B says: “I’m so excited to be joining The X Factor – I loved being a guest judge back in 2012. I’ve always thought honesty is the best policy when being a judge and that’s what I’m going to bring more of this year – whether it’s spotting an incredible singer, giving someone a reality check or debating with Simon over who’s got it wrong! Now I can’t wait to get started and find some amazing talent.”

The X Factor creator, Simon Cowell, says: “I am thrilled that Mel B has agreed to be a judge on The X Factor this year. I thought she was fantastic as a guest judge a couple of years ago. She is feisty, opinionated and, I believe, will be a great mentor.”

Mel B will join renowned music manager Louis Walsh, who returns for another series. As previously announced, they are joining Simon and pop princess Cheryl Cole, who both make a celebrated return to the show for the first time since 2010.

The judges will be joined by award-winning broadcaster and presenter Dermot O’Leary, who is back to preside over the talent, tears and drama, while providing support to the aspiring stars.

Louis Walsh says, “It should be a fun year this year with both Simon and Cheryl returning and I think Mel will keep us all on our toes, she is Scary Spice after all.”

Dermot O’Leary says, “Mel was great as a guest judge a couple of years ago and she certainly doesn’t mince her words. With Mel on the panel, along with Simon, Cheryl and Louis, I’ll have my hands full – we’re going to be in for an exciting year.”

Filming for the new series begins next week with an audition tour taking place in four cities across the UK – Manchester, London, Newcastle and Edinburgh. Once again hopefuls will have to tackle two sets of audition rounds, starting with the intimate closed rooms in which they find themselves eyeball-to-eyeball in front of the judges. If they impress and get three or more yeses, they must then sing in an arena to prove they can impress a live audience.

Simon Cowell Might Change the BGT Judges Next Year And What Does Eric Think Of The Show.

simon-ex_edited-1

Simon Cowell talks about his fellow Britain’s Got Talent judges and how Eric watches the show.

Simon believes David Walliams is a law unto himself.

“He overstepped the mark sometimes but the more I say to him to not do it, he does it even more, so it’s better to say little. He gets really over-excited on the live shows and says and does things he wasn’t planning, then sometimes regrets it. But he kind of makes it interesting.”

Simon has hinted that he may have reached the end of the road with the comic. Admitting to Nicola Methven from the Daily Mirror Simon that there could well be changes to the judging line-up next year, he says he will make the decision depending on each of panelists “commitment” to the ITV show.

“I don’t even know yet,” he sighed. “With David I knew what I was letting myself in for before we signed him. It’s much more down to having a conversation with all of them afterwards and seeing how much they want to be in the show.

“Are they still absolutely into the idea of finding a star? You never want a judge for hire. You want someone who’s really going to be committed.”

Along the bench, Amanda Holden has made it clear she loves the role, thanking Simon for rescuing her from simply being known for a failed marriage to Les Dennis and an affair with Neil Morrissey.

But there is also a question-mark over Alesha Dixon. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge is being linked to the vacant role on Simon’s other show The X Factor.

“She couldn’t do both,” was all he would say this week.

Talking about the final Simon says he’s pleased with how this series of BGT has gone, finding it less predictable than last year, when Hungarian shadow act Attraction triumphed.

“I’m excited about the final – it’s going to be very open. There are four or five who could win it on the night, unlike last year when it was quite obvious that Attraction were going to win. It was a bit of a one horse race.”

Ronan Keating: “Simon Cowell is a Very Impressive Man”

simon-ronan

Ronan Keating said recently Simon Cowell is “a very impressive man” and revealed that he “would love” to join The X Factor UK.”

The former Boyzone star – who is currently a judge on the Australian version of X Factor – described Simon as “a great businessman… through and through”.

“Simon’s always been very nice to me. I worked with Simon in the early years when I signed Westlife to his label, so I’ve known him for years. He’s a very clever man. He knows what he’s doing.”

“The empire that he’s built is very impressive. He’s a great businessman, really, through and through.”

Speaking to Digital Spy Rowan added that although his commitments to X Factor Australia ruled him out of a spot on the next UK series, he would consider making a move in the future.

“I would love to do the UK X Factor,” he said. “I’m already signed up for Australia this year. I’m down there from August doing the lives, so I wouldn’t be able to get back and do [this year’s series], but to be honest, I would do it.

“I love the show here and I’d be close to my kids. But I’d find it hard, I’d miss Australia as well.”
