Kind-hearted Simon Cowell is urging Sunday People readers to give a child a Christmas after making a generous donation to our Secret Santa Appeal.
Simon is adding his voice to much-loved comedy actor James Corden and a host of other stars who are supporting our special campaign.
They aim to make sure the 20,000 children whose parents are forced to use food banks have extra-special smiles on their faces on December 25.
Simon who is expecting his first child, a son, with girlfriend Lauren Silverman in February is delighted to be contributing to our campaign and hopes others will join him.
Simon told The Sunday People: “Every child should have a present to open at Christmas but sadly some families just can’t afford one.
“I’m happy to be donating to this appeal and I hope everybody gets behind it to give whatever they can. It may be a toy or a few pounds.
“Let’s give these kids a Christmas they can remember fondly.”
The Trussell Trust’s Operational Director David McAuley said: “Everyone at the trust has been blown away by the generosity of the Sunday People’s readers across the UK.
This extremely kind donation from Simon Cowell is so welcome and will help our food banks to bring a bit of joy to children living in poverty in the UK this Christmas.”
